Starting From Scratch
To prepare the chicken gravy from scratch using Donmar Foods’ Chicken Soup powdered base:
- Start with 2 litres of COLD water
- Add 1 scoop of Donmar Foods’ Chicken Soup powdered base [using the scoop provided in the packaging]
- Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- Stir the powders into the water and bring to a boil
- Simmer to allow the liquid to thicken
If you need a thicker gravy dissolve additional cornstarch in COLD water and add to the gravy until you achieve the desired thickness.
Starting With a Warm Chicken Broth
To prepare the chicken gravy when starting with a prepared warm chicken broth:
- Dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch into COLD water
- Add this to the chicken broth and bring to a boil
- Simmer until thickened
- Repeat until desired thickness is achieved
